Mission statement

Global Microbial Identifier is an open community of passionate One Health professionals advancing microbial genomic surveillance and promoting microbial data sharing to create common benefits for all.

Vision

Global Microbial Identifier aims to improve health outcomes by promoting data sharing and creating common benefits through the use of microbial genomics. GMI connects, facilitates, and communicates scientific knowledge, tools, best practices, and other resources for microbial genomic surveillance to policy and decision makers, stakeholders, and other users across the One Health spectrum. GMI serves as a resource hub and discussion forum that can help build bridges and connect One Health professionals and organizations using microbial genomics for surveillance to reduce the burden of illness.
